Fältkubbens ursprungliga inriktning, då den bildades för över 100 år sedan, var att bedriva fältarbete i Skåne för att öka kunskapen om landskapets geologi. Inom Fältklubbens program har det alltid arrangerats exkursioner, företrädesvis under slutet av våren och oftast till södra Sverige eller Danmark. Dock har även längre exkursioner som till Sardinien och södra Tyskland genomförts. Exkursionens
